The Marketplace for Regenerative Procurement
Generate social value and support carbon removal
ROOT to Market is a procurement route that connects responsbile clients and contractors with the right suppliers to match their social value and climate ambitions – under a shared vision of a regenerative, non-extractive future.

- Builds a social impact fund for the procurer, who decides how to invest the fund, supporting local community benefits
- Builds capacity in the construction supply chains so that, over time, our secotr becomes less reliant on extractive practices, makes low carbon design choices and creates upsides for communities
- Includes all suppliers, regardless of size, by assessing them on registration and working with them to improve their sustainability credentials using training and Close the Gap plans
- Provides data for biogenic carbon storage as a carbon removal. This enables reporting against corporate carbon targets and provides Greenhouse Gas Removals (GGR) which are central to the UK’s Net Zero strategy. ROOT to Market can aggregate removal across multiple projects to enable the trading of stored carbon within assets being procured (estimated to be up to 2.5% of the procurement cost)
ROOT to Market is:
- Legally compliant
- Flexible and agile to the procurer’s requirements
- More cost effective than alternative frameworks and procurement vehicles
